Two Cities, One Heartbeat

 📖 Two Cities, One Heartbeat

Episode 1: When I First Heard Your Voice

---

It was past midnight in London.

The city was quiet, except for the ticking clock and the occasional sound of wind brushing against my window. I wasn’t expecting much from the night — until my phone buzzed.

A voice note.

From her.

From Lahore.

---

I had never heard her speak before — only texts, emojis, and poetry sent back and forth like paper boats across oceans.

But that night, I pressed play.

And suddenly, Lahore wasn’t far anymore.

Her voice wasn’t loud.

It wasn’t dramatic.

It was soft, almost like a secret.

Like someone reading a prayer in a language only hearts understand.

> "Assalamualaikum... main ne socha tumhein apni awaaz sunani chahiye..."

"...shayad barish ho rahi hai idhar, aur mujhe tum yaad aaye."

That’s all she said.

But in those seconds, my entire room felt warmer.

Like someone had opened a window from the other side of the world and let the sunlight in.

---

✨ That Night I Wrote in My Diary:

> “She speaks like falling rain,

and I listen like thirsty earth.”

“I never believed in distance.

Not after her voice travelled 6,244 kilometers

just to touch my heart.”

---

She had no idea what her message did to me.

She didn’t know that her soft Urdu words made my English life melt.

She didn’t know that for the first time in years — I slept with a smile.

Not because I heard her.

But because now I felt her.

---

💌 From London to Lahore

This was the beginning.

Of something that didn’t need dates, flights, or promises.

It only needed one heartbeat.

And it already had two.
